Negative shapes.

Hello friend.

Here are a couple of recent drawings i did. I wanted to try something a little different to what i usually draw so i've tried to incorporate more shapes and negative space. It's been quite fun so far.

I still don't have my scanner so i took pictures with the built in laptop webcam so they aren't very good quality.

Hope you like, comments welcome.

A new post for the sake of it.

Hidey ho all..*echo*.. Here's a new post. They are last couple of drawings i scanned into my computer. I've a fair few pencil drawings unscanned but unfortunately my scanner is a trillion miles away hibernating in a box.
These drawings are okay, but just okay at best. They were kinda rushed as i get bored quick with drawings and sometime don't spend the time i should on them.
Anyway here they are, comments and cash donations appreciated.

Oh, the 1st one is called The Piggy Wiggy Thingigmijiggie Thinks About Life and the 2nd is called The Siamese Tweedler.

Hanzenhienem

Hi all. I haven't posted anything for a while. No excuse really, just haven't. Hope you like this drawing though. It's from a sketch of mine that i drew whilst in a TAFE class years ago. I decided to do a proper version as i liked the sketch but more so because i was feeling uninspired for a new drawing.
Comments appreciated.
As usual Copyright me.

Mr. Grumble McGunkly of McGunkly Industries (a look at)

These drawings are taken from a poem/story I wrote called 'Mr. Grumble McGunkly of McGunkly Industries'. I was going to make it into a Flash animated short but for one reason or another I didn't (or should I say I’ve yet to do it.... that is if the word document hadn't been deleted in mysterious circumstances!).

Basically the story runs thus; I wrote a previous poem/story about the people in a multicoloured, fantastical, fictional town. The story was fine too me but I felt it needed something more so instead of adding to it I came up with another poem/story (Mr. McGrumble..). It's basically about a bitter dwarf of a man who runs an industrial mine on the outskirts of the town.

The drawings above are sketches I did of the main character and the landscape of the mine.

Unfortunately as said before the Word document file for the ‘Mr. McGunkly….’ story was deleted (along with everything in my text folder on my computer….) so I sadly don’t have a copy of it. But as soon as I discovered this I wrote down what I remembered about the story and one day I’ll re-write it….

Spidey Spiderson

Patterns of swirling seas adorned his mind
Scruffy and haggard festooned the outside
His heart too bright it must be kept inside
A lightening flash to make all blind

Boring, depressed his eyes did glaze
At the persistent bafflement of life’s ways
Nine to five the spider webs are made
Staring at the sufferers of soul ram raid

Murderous eyes would shoot daggers
At the keepers of empty spirits
His lonesome mind made him madder
What a waste this walking litter

Illustrated interpretations in his black book
Horror show pictures to exorcise
Acid bath for their brains by hook and by crook
Soul deceasing liquid to kill their betrayal

Every day Spidey Spiderson would stare and smirk
Day dreaming in bright coloured clouds & wide peaceful spaces
Back to earth he watches the litter living to work

And he knows he will soon be going places

Dunky Div

Here's a couple of drawings i did for an animation i created some time back (we're talking years here). It was called Dunky Div and it was about an ugly, grouchy old man (Div) who all the kids are frightened of. But this one boy, Billy or Danny or something makes friends with him.

Both drawings are pencil drawn/coloured backgrounds with Flash character on top.
